Members from the Naples Hammerhead Rugby Team meet up with ABC7’s Kristen Clarke on the beach at Junkanoo, the home of the 17th Annual Beerfoot 7’s Beach Rugby Tournament this Saturday. Kristen talks with club president Todd Fischer about tackling, lineouts, and Southwest Florida’s premier rugby organization with opportunities for all ages to learn the sport.
This Saturday, August 3rd, teams from all over Florida and Southeast region will compete for cash prizes and bragging rights as champions of the 17th Annual Beerfoot 7’s Beach Rugby Tournament. Last year, the Tridents from the East Coast took home the cash and trophy in the Men’s Competitive Division, and the Fort Jax won the cash and trophy for the Women’s Competitive Division.
Games start at 9 am on Saturday and will run all day, ending around 5 pm, and will be followed by more fun with a pub crawl on Fort Myers Beach.
